Mobile dolls

A term used in the Gundam anime series New Mobile Report Gundam Wing to refer to a mobile suit that does not have a human piloting it. Mobile dolls are instead controlled by an advanced artificial intelligence computer that simulates combat manuevers, producing an unthinking killing machine.

The average mobile doll is thought to be superior to an average human pilot, but a computer program can never make up for the determination, adaptability, and spirt of a human pilot. The use of mobile dolls was strongly opposed by OZ founder Treize Khushrenada, who felt that by using mobile dolls instead of human soldiers war would just become a meaningless game. But despite objections mobile dolls are still put into wide use in variations of the Leo, Taurus, Virgo, and Virgo II.
