Men of Honor
Men of Honor is a 2000 drama film, directed by George Tillman Jr. and starring Robert De Niro and Cuba Gooding Jr.. It is based on a true story, though De Niro's character is entirely fictional.

Plot summary
Carl Brashear (Gooding Jr.) joins the navy, and while working on a ship where he is assigned to the kitchen, he is inspired by the bravery of one of the divers, Master Chief Billy Sunday (De Niro). He is determined to overcome racism and become the first ever African American navy diver. Once he's at the training camp in Bayonne, New Jersey however, he finds that Sunday is the camp commander, who is determined to see that Brashear fails.
