Mem 1414
MEM 1414: PDE4 the first drug candidate from a novel class of compounds designed to inhibit phosphodiesterase, the enzyme that breaks down cAMP levels in the brain. These compounds have promising utility for Alzheimers Disease, potentially MCI and depression. Memory Pharmaceuticals PDE-4 compounds have shown efficacy in raising cAMP levels across multiple biochemical and physiological assays and in reversing memory deficits in multiple animal behavior models of cognitive impairment. MEM 1414 is effective in hippocampus-dependent memory tasks over a very wide dose range. Studies in three species demonstrate high oral bioavailability with a safety profile, that is significantly superior to other PDE-4 inhibitors. This product is in Phase I clinical trials.
