Meiji University (明治大学) is a famous private university in Ochanomizu, Tokyo.It is one of the Tokyo 6 Universities. It was founded in 1881 by three young jurists,Tatsuo Kishimoto,Kozo Miyagi,and Misao Yasiro.
The University has 8 faculties with a total of around 33,000 students on three campuses in Ochanomizu, Izumi and Ikuta.
The famous film director Takeshi Kitano is a dropout of the Meiji university.
