Megadeath

Megadeath is a term coined by the United States military at the height of the Cold War. It means one million deaths. Many megadeaths were expected in the event of a nuclear war against the Soviet Union, for instance.

This word, minus an 'a', later became the name of the thrash metal band Megadeth.
