Meadowhall railway station

Meadowhall railway station is located in the north of Sheffield, South Yorkshire. It serves Meadowhall Shopping Centre and the nearby village of Tinsley. It has connections with Meadowhall bus station and a stop on the Sheffield Supertram.

It has four platforms: two for the Penistone line, which runs from Sheffield to Huddersfield via Barnsley and Penistone (and also a line from Sheffield to Leeds via Barnsley; and two for the other lines. The platform numbers are as follows: 1 for trains to Sheffield (and sometimes about one train per day to London); 2 for trains to Doncaster, Leeds (via Wakefield) and York; 3 for trains to Sheffield (again); and 4 for trains to Huddersfield and Leeds (via Barnsley).

The shopping centre has a few car parks (altogether containing about 1,800 spaces) which do not have a parking charge. From most of these car parks, you will need to walk for a few minutes through the shopping centre to the station, the exception being the pink car park. There is also a petrol station nearby. The pink car park (and most of the other car parks) are usually busy, but the orange car park (at the other side of the shopping centre, next to Sainsbury's), is much less busy.

The bus station is served by buses from all over South Yorkshire and beyond. The tram stop is served by trams from most parts of Sheffield.

If you wish to start your journey by car then continue by rail, this station is close to junction 34 on the M1, a motorway that goes from London to Leeds.

There is direct access to the station, via a covered footbridge crossing the River Don, from the shopping centre.
