Meadowbrook Parkway

The Meadowbrook Parkway is part of the Long Island State Parkway System, running the length of central Nassau County from North to South. The Parkway begins in the north at Mineola, the County Seat of Nassau, at the Northern State Parkway, near its intersection with the Long Island Expressway. The Meadowbrook then runs south, though what is to be named the "Nassau HUB" area, including exits adjacent to the Roosevelt Field Shopping Mall, Mitchell Field Park, EAB Plaza, and Hofstra University. The parkway winds south, through East Garden City, Uniondale, East Meadow, Bellmore, and Merrick. Exists connect the Parkway to the the Northern State Parkway, Old Country Road, Hempstead Turnpike, the Southern State Parkway, Sunrise Highway, Merrick Road, and Jones Beach's West End. At Merrick the parkway crosses the Great South Bay, towards Jones Beach Island and Jones Beach State Park. Before the parkway reaches Jones Beach, a connection to Long Beach Island, and the communities of Point Lookout, Lido Beach and Long Beach links to the Meadowbrook Parkway, called the Loop Parkways. The Meadowbrook Parkway is the host of the annual Long Island Marathon during the first weekend in May each year.
