Matarranya

Matarranya (spanish: Matarraña, catalan: Matarranya) is a catalan-speaking comarca in Eastern Aragon, bordering the Spanish Autonomous Communities of Catalonia and Valencia. Its capital is Vall-de-roures, and it borders the Aragonese comarques of Bajo Aragón-Caspe/Baix Aragó-Casp, Bajo Aragón/Baix Aragó, the Catalan comarques of Terra Alta, Baix Ebre and Montsià, and the Valencian comarques of Baix Maestrat and Ports.

It belongs to the catalan-speaking strip in Eastern Aragon which, depending of the speaker is called Franja d'Aragó (Strip of Aragon), Franja Oriental (Eastern Strip) or Franja de Ponent (Western Strip).
