Mastermind Media
Based in Andover, Massachusetts, the Mastermind Media Corp. manages the complex media assets of its parent company, Hunter/Gwin. Mastermind Media Corp oversees divisions including Mastermind Radio, Mastermind productions, and MastermindWeb.
The MastermindWeb division recently found itself in a pivotal position within Mastermind Media. Having introduced AndoverTakeout.com, MastermindWeb has risen to be the most profitable component of both the Mastermind and Hunter/Gwin media empires.
History-
Mastermind Productions, founded in August 2001, pioneered the digital video revolution. With its landmark video and cinematic style, Mastermind ignited the world of low budget films. In time, Mastermind Productions evolved into Mastermind Media LLC.
Since its humble beginnings in suburban Pennsylvania, Mastermind Media LLC, as it is now known, has grown from poverty to prosperity. In mid-August 2001, the yet unnamed studio emerged with hit movies like Christmas (2003) and Peak (2002). Mastermind became highly successful. Soon, however, Mastermind split up. Its co-founder left to attend Phillips Academy in Andover Mass, while the other members of Mastermind stayed behind to attend Pennsbury School in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
The co-founder, who maintained legal control of the Mastermind copyright throughout this period, started an investment firm called Hunter/Gwin in late 2004. Hunter/Gwin acquired the rights to Mastermind and its assets around the same time. Mastermind was spun off into a series of divisions consisting of MastermindFilm, MastermindWeb, MastermindRadio, and MastermindPrint, all controlled by the original Mastermind namesake (Mastermind Media LLC). Mastermind Media has branched into multiple markets through ventures like AndoverTakeout.com, Situation Room Radio, and (of course) various video projects including 'Closing Arguements' and 'The Mind'.
Both Hunter/Gwin and Mastermind Media Corp. are very secretive about upcoming products and services. However, company insiders in both firms suggest that something big is in the works, and that this new product (rumored to be a blockbuster website) will be released in the first quarter of 2005.
Both Hunter/Gwin and Mastermind Media seem to be in excellent financial shape. "Both companies have a lot of cash on hand, a large investment pool to draw from, excellent management and products with potential to be huge" says Henry John, a research analyst at IRC.
