After 1945, Masin brothers attended 'King George College', an elite public school in spa town of Podebrady, Czechoslovakia. Their fellow-student here were f. e. Vaclav Havel or Milos Forman. In February 1948, communists made revolution or coup d etat. Communist agents in army and police caused that army did nothing against coup. Communist terror disabled all opposition in army. In early 1950s, Masin brothers formed military resistance group to fight against communists. They assumed, that the WWIII will come soon and they wanted to start guerilla fight. After few years, they wanted to join Western armies to be able to fight with communism as soldiers. In 1953 they fled in five-member group through Czechoslovak border to Sowiet part of Germany in order to reach western part of Berlin. They were hunted by ca 20.000 soldiers and policemen. Two members of their group, Vaclav Sveda and Zbynek Janata were arrested and executed by communists. Masin brothers and Milan Paumer struggled through to Western part of Berlin. All joined U. S. In 1960s,Communists also prepared kidnapping of Josef Masin from Germany to Czechoslovakia for great propaganda trial and execution of him, but this was not finally realised.
