Manilkara is a genus of trees native throughout the tropics, with a concentration of species in the New World.
The genus includes a number of commercially important species, notably M. zapota (Sapodilla), M. chicle (Chicle) and M. bidentata (Balatá), grown for their edible fruit, wood and latex.
Several of the species were previously classified under the invalid generic names Achras, Mimusops and Sapota.
