Mananthavady

Mananthavady is a small town on the banks of the river Kabani in the Wayanad district of Kerala, India. The tomb of Pazhassi Raja is found here. The places of interest in and around Mananthavady are Valliyoorkav (ancient temple where annual slave trade used to take place), Pazhassi Kudeeram (tomb) and Pazhassi resort. The Adivasi Autonomous Council, which precursed the origins of the tribal rights movement under C.K.Janu, was formed in a small hamlet called Panavalli near Mananthavady.
