Mad About You is a United States sitcom which appeared on NBC from September 23, 1992 to 1999.

The popular show starred Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt as a recently married couple living in New York City. Reiser played Paul Buchman, a documentary film maker. Hunt played Jamie Stemple Buchman, a public relations specialist. Near the end of the show's run, the couple produced a baby daughter named Mabel.

The show's theme song, Final Frontier, was originally performed by Don Was (who co-wrote it with Reiser). However, Anita Baker is credited with the more famous version of the song. Baker's version made its debut midway through the 1997 season, and it would be played for the rest of the show's run.

Baker's version of the theme song appears on the show's soundtrack album.

Connections to other sitcoms

Lisa Kudrow had a recurring role of Ursula Buffay, a waitress at a local restaurant the couple frequented. Ursula was the identical twin sister of Phoebe Buffay from the sitcom Friends. In an episode of Friends, Jamie and Fran visit "Central Perk" and mistake Phoebe for Ursula.

In one episode, Paul, pressured by Jamie, decides to sign over the lease of his old "bachelor pad" to the current tenant who is subleasing. This tenant is revealed to be Cosmo Kramer of Seinfeld.

Mad About You outside the U.S.

From January 3, 2005, Mad About You will be shown regularly on the United Kingdom digital terrestrial channel ABC1. In Latin America, the show is still running on Sony Entertainment Television at daytime slots.
