MSM-03 Gogg
The MSM-03 Gogg is first successful amphibious model mobile suit in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam that was mass produced by a mobile suit production company of the Principality of Zeon known as the Zimmand Company. The Gogg was needed to help secure the Zeon's footholds in the Earth's oceans. The Gogg would prove to be the Zimmand Company's first successful design for the Zeons, but not their last (They also developed the powerful MS-09 Dom).
The Gogg was heavily armored to protect itself against the deep sea pressures. The mobile suit also held a powerful reactor, so powerful that the Gogg could even use twin mega particle guns mounted in its body. The Gogg, however, had no cooling systems and used a the water as a natural heat sink. Lastly, the MSM-03 Gogg had ballast tanks also built inside the body, making the MS a submersible unit. The tanks could also hold water that could cool the mobile suit's reactors for out of water operations.
The MSM-03 design proved decently successful. However, it wasn't produced in a lot of numbers and was later replaced by more powerful and better designs amphibious mobile suits, such as MIP Company's highly successful MSM-07 Z'Gok. The Gogg would really serve as a base from which all other underwater combat mobile suits. A variation of the Gogg, the MSM-03C Hygogg was produced to overcome its predecessor's limitations.
