Luwero

Luwero is a district in central Uganda. Like other Ugandan districts, it is named after its 'chief town'. Luwero was the site of a fierce insurgency and brutal counter-insurgency that left many thousands of civilians dead before the National Resistance Army of Yoweri Museveni came to power.
