Lucy Baxley

Lucy Baxley is the current Lieutenant Governor of Alabama, elected in 2002.

She was born in Pansy, Alabama near Dothan.

She married at 18; then her second husband was Bill Baxley, Attorney General of Alabama two terms and later Lieutenant Governor of Alabama from 1983 to 1987. (later divorced)

In 1994 she was elected Treasurer of State of Alabama for the first of two terms lasting until 2002, at which time she was elected to her present office. She is the first woman to have been elected Lieutenant Governor in Alabama.
