Ljubisa Samardzic

Ljubisa Samardzic (born November 19, 1936) is Serbian actor born in Macedonia.

Born in Skopje, Macedonia, to the family of a coal miner, his acting talent was discovered very early and he won a scholarship with respected director Bojan Stupica.

Samardzic was educated at the Belgrade Drama Arts Academy. In August 1995, he received Life Achievement Award "Pavle Vuisic" for his roles in Yugoslav cinematography.

Samardzic was a member of the Central Committee of Yugoslav Communist Party in late 1980s.

He has been married to Mirjana Samardzic since 1960. Nicknamed Smoki, he has been credited as Ljubisa Samardjic, Luba Samardy, Ljubisa Samardzic-Smoki, and Smoki Samardì.
