Lisarow is located aroud 80km north of Sydney and is located on the Great Northern Railway and the Pacific Highway. It is a mainly residential area, with medium density housing, with small rural properties on the fringes. There is also a substantial amount of industrial activity around the railway line and station. It is a fairly middle class area, and the main shopping area is Liasrow Plaza which has a supermarket, bank, hairdresser and medical centre. There is Lisarow High School, Lisarow Primary and Narara Public School in the suburb.
