Link (measure)

A Link, also called a Gunter’s link, is a unit of length in the Imperial system. It is equal to 0.01 chain, or 7.92 inches in the Imperial system. A link is equal to 20.1168 centimeters or 0.201168 meter in the metric system.

The link unit was based on Gunter's measurement where a metal chain consisting of 100 links was used to measure land area.

Links were commonly used in surveying property in the English speaking world before the 20th century, but are now rarely used.

Link is usually abbreviated as l., li. or lnk.
