Lydia Litvak

Lydia Litvak (died August 1, 1943), also known as Lily Litvak or the White Rose of Stalingrad, was a woman fighter pilot in the Soviet Air Force during the Second World War. She was the best known woman fighter ace, with twelve kills, although she may not have had the highest number of kills. A play about her, White Rose, was performed once in the Belgrade Studio Theatre in Coventry.
