Legend of Zelda Manga

A series of manga created by Akira Himekawa (姫川明) based on the Legend of Zelda videogame series. They are the official manga for the videogame. The series includes Ocarina of Time (時のオカリナ) Part I and II, Majora's Mask (ムジュラの仮面), Oracle of Ages (ふしぎの木の実), and Oracle of Seasons. Four Swords is also expected soon. The protagonist is Link or a descendant of him. Due to an apparent low demand there are no future plans to translate this manga into English and release it outside of Japan.

時のオカリナ

Released in 1998, it is an interesting adaptation of the classic videogame. There are two parts to this manga: こども編 (Child Saga) and おとな編 (Adult Saga). Some of the added information in the comic may not be official; for example, Impa (インパ) pierces Link's ears after he defeats his shadow in Kakariko Village as a traditional rite of Sheikah passage. In these, there are bonus chapters; two that shed light on Link's relationship with the Skull Kid (sometimes mistranslated as Star Kid), and one about a tribe of birds. The protagonist is Link either as a child or an adult (こどもリンク or おとなリンク, respectively) and during the course of the book he is on his quest to stop Ganondorf (がノンドロフ) from taking over Hyrule (ハイリア). Princess Zelda (ゼルだ姫) is helping him on his quest. The book follows the same plot basically as the game. There are ten chapters in the first book, and eight in the second one.

ムジュラの仮面

Released in 2000, it also is an adaptation of the videogame. It is one volume, and the last chapter includes the artist's speculation of where Majora's mask originated. (There are 10 chapters.) Link is whisked away to Termina (ダルミナ) by the Skull Kid (スタルキッド) under possession by Majora's Mask (ムジュラの仮面). The book follows the same plot basically as the game.
