Laurana Kanan

Lauranthalasa "Laurana" Kanan (278 AC – 38 SC) is a fictional character in the Dragonlance universe.

Laurana was the youngest child of the Speaker of the Suns, Solostaran Kanan, born after her brothers Porthios and Gilthanas.

She and her childhood playmate Tanis Half-Elven were secretly betrothed shortly before Tanis left Qualinesti with Flint Fireforge.

When he returned during the War of the Lance, Laurana followed the Companions to Pax Tharkas where she learned what it meant to adventure. She became the Golden General, leading Whitestone armies against the Dragon Highlords and contributing to the defeat of the Dark Queen.

She and Tanis were later married, and had a son Gilthas, who became Speaker of the Suns — albeit a puppet of the Knights of Takhisis.

Laurana died defending Qualinost from the dragon overlord Beryllithranox during the War of Souls.
