Land-equilization system
- This article or section should be merged with Equal-field system.
The land-equilization system was a policy initiated by the rulers of the Sui Dynasty of China. The distribution of land was based on family size. Larger families got more land, but current landholders kept their existing land. Land could be farmed, but not bought or sold, and so it mainly stayed in the hands of big landowners. Still, this policy started, or helped, a time of high agricultural output in China.
