Lancaster University Hiking Club

Lancaster University Hiking Club (LUHC) is one of the largest student outdoor societies in the UK, with a membership of about 300. Membership is open to all members of Lancaster University; undergraduates, postgraduates and staff. Such a variety of membership gives the Club an interesting social mixture and a wide-ranging appeal.

Everyone has a different idea of what they want from the mountains and the Club itself. There are walkers and climbers, beginners and the experienced, and all abilities and extremes are catered for, from the experienced mountaineer and soloist to the modest Lakeland hill-walker.

The club meets every week day in the Faraday Foyer, Lancaster University between 1 and 2pm.

The honorary President of the club is Sir Chris Bonington.
