Lampoon

Lampoon refers to a form of satire that explicitly takes on specific named individuals or groups, as opposed to human kind in general. The editorial cartoon is a typical example.

In recent times, the term has taken on a softer aspect and is sometimes applied to parody and other humor that stems more from affection than from contempt toward its subject.
