Lake Dialect
The Lake dialect, referred to as Lake, was an idiosyncratic language spoken amongst Italian-American locals of the Silver Lake area, in Nonantum, one many disparate villages of Newton, Massachusetts. It was replete with idiosyncratic terms such as divia and mush, not very differently from Yiddish-American English. The idiolect came about as a blend of antiquated Italian and some World War II code.
