Lajos Biro

Lajos BirĂ³ (born Lajos Blau) (August 22, 1880 – September 9, 1948) was a Romanian novelist, playwright, and screenwriter who wrote many films from the early 1920s through the late 1940s. He was born in Nagyvarad, Austria-Hungary (now Oradea, Romania) and eventually moved to the United Kingdom where he worked as a scenario chief for London Film Productions run by Alexander Korda. He died in London at the age of 68.

In 1927, he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Writing, but lost to Ben Hecht.
