Lacu Rosu
Lacu Roşu (The Red Lake) is a natural dam lake situated in the Oriental Carpathians chain, in Harghita county, Romania. The lake appeared in the 19th century, after a landslide that obturated a waterflow. Even today the lake is full of tree trunks, the remainings of the flooded forest.
Lacu Roşu is a popular touristic sight not only for Romanians, but also for Hungarian tourists that come in great number.
Nearby Lacu Roşu we can find one of the most spectacular places in Romania, Cheile Bicazului (Bicaz gorges).
