Laava

(Redirected from Laavan)

A laava (plural laavan) is one of the four hymns of the Anand Kaaraj (Sikh wedding ceremony). The four hymns are from the Guru Granth Sahib, pages 773–774.

Guru Ram Das says on page 788 of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib of the meaning of the marriage:

"They are not said to be husband and wife who merely sit together. Rather they alone are called husband and wife, who have one soul in two bodies."
