Kyak Islands

The Kyak Islands are a group of 18 islands, created by Rachel Drake, aged 15, from Billericay, Essex, who also goes by the name "Prof. Cinders", after the local professor in the Kyak Islands.

The islands were created for members of the Pokeschool forums to participate in Pokémon Roleplay (RP), where a member creates a character, usually shown with a sprite (an edited image of a Pokémon trainer from a Pokémon game), and they use their character to travel around a region, catching pokémon, and letting their characters make friends.

Rachel created the islands in 2000/2001, as a game she and her sister, Hannah, played. She launched the Kyak Islands on Pokeschool to celebrate her 100th post on the forums, and it got a good response.

Then followed the creation of the RP forums, The Kyak Islands, where everything done was roleplay in the Kyak Islands. This is a Proboards board, and each category represents one Kyak town, with a Pokémon Gym and any other attractions also coming under the category.

Originally, the Kyak towns were: Waterside Town, Waterside Uppertown, Lake City, Darnov Town, Senkrad City, Cuhtov Town, Midirian City, Seasite City, Deserted Island, Islack Town, Poolbury Town, Oceanview City, Mantanan Town, Boatra City, Hookum Town, Skan Town, Long Town, Atlanka City, Enkar Town, Triben City, Finour City and Mystery Island.

Over 2004, The Moonlight Islands (created by Stephanie Karen Cedeno, a.k.a. Lugiasian) were added, these are 3 islands containing 4 towns and cities. They are colectively known as The Moonlight Islands (DKI)- the "DKI" stands for District of the Kyak Islands.

Also, there was another island, called Pyro Island was added next to the island housing Islack Town, by Josh Taylor, a.k.a. Pokémon Master Josh.

In February 2005, Josh's own created region was added as another DKI, to the west of the Kyak mainland. The sub-region is called Mintono Islands (DKI). There are 11 islands and 10 cities. The towns are;- Root Town, basalt Town, Cobalt Town, Leaf Town, Limestone City, Coastal City, Vision City, Shadow Island, Teardrop Island, Chip Island, Volcano Island, Sea City, Tropica Island and Love Island.

On March 18th 2005, there is going to be one final addition, Okuma Island (DKI), created by Treynor Wolfe, a.k.a. treynor33.

Administrators

Rachel Drake/Prof. Cinders: Rachel created the forums and the islands, plus all the official characters. She also oversees everything being posted and all actions taken.

Josh Taylor/Pokémon Mastre Josh: Josh activates codes on the forums, is the official Kyak characters spriter, and also the official news reporter, as well as creating and moderating the official Kyak site (alone!) he also advertises the forums vigourously and makes Wikipedia pages about the islands! As well as being Rachel's boyfriend!!!

Stephanie Cedeno/Lugiasian: Creator of the Moonlight Islands. Rarely posts.

Treynor Wolfe/treyno33: Creator of Okuma. Rarely posts.
