Kunsthistorisches Museum

The Kunsthistorisches Museum ("Museum of Art History") is the most prominent art museum in Vienna, Austria. The main museum is in a Ringstraße building, on Maria Theresien-Platz.

Affiliated with the Vienna museum, and officially part of the Kunsthistorisches Museum are:

  • The Lipizzaner Museum in the Stallburg (Vienna)
  • Ambras Castle (Innsbruck)
  • The Museum of Ethnology (Vienna, affiliated in 2001)
  • The Austrian Theatre Museum (Vienna, affiliated in 2001)

  • The Collection of Ancient Musical Instruments in the Neue Burg (Sammlung alter Musikinstrumente)

  • The Museum of Carriages and Department of Court Uniforms in Schloß Schönbrunn (Wagenburg und Monturdepot)
