Klenová castle
Klenová castle (in Czech Hrad a zámek Klenová) is large castle located in southern Bohemia near the town of Klatovy. Only ruins remain from original castle but new buildings were added in 19th century.
Klenová castle was built in 1291 as a part of frontier defense system. Nobleman, writer and musician Kryštof Harant z Polžic a Bezdružic was born here in 1564. Between 17th and 18th century the castle fell in ruins but it was reconstructed in 1832 – 1838. Today it hosts art gallery.
