Kirkham, or Kirkam-in-Amounderness is a town in Fylde area of Lancashire, England, between Blackpool and Preston. The town is home to a large open prison. It is also home to well-known celebrity and linguist Felicity Long. The town has been long established, as it appears in the Doomsday Book of 1086 under the name of Churcheham (sp.?). The town's market has one of the oldest charters in the United Kingdom.
