Disney's Kim Possible Movie: So the Drama is the first feature-length animated movie of the Kim Possible series (although technically a previous multiple-part episode of the series, "A Sitch In Time", had also aired as a TV movie). This movie includes a mix of traditional animation and CGI animation. The movie premiered April 8, 2005 on the Disney Channel, and it is claimed to be the first animated Disney Channel Original Movie (although technically, that milestone would actually go to the DuckTales series premiere, "Treasure of the Golden Suns", which originally aired as a TV movie on the Disney Channel). This movie was completed after the original run of the animated television series, but it was aired before the final four full length episodes and two eleven minute episodes of the third and final season of the animated television series. It is, however, the series finale and all production of Kim Possible has ceased with the production of this movie. The movie also features Christy Carlson Romano's new single "Could it Be".

Plot

Dr. Drakken wants to stop Kim Possible, once and for all. He, somehow, comes up with an ingenious plan which keeps even Shego guessing for the first time. He decides to figure out Kim's one weakness by hiring men to live in a 'teen-environment' and then they report back to him on the pressures of teen life. Drakken finds that Kim's weakness is boys. She doesn't know who to take to the upcoming prom and therefore, takes matters into his own hands. Meanwhile, he's also working on a brain-tap machine that sucks information out of one's brain, rendering them with a sort of memory-loss. He also steals a rough draft of a new toy that Nakasumi-san was inventing for Nakasumi Toys. Any toy he creates has been known to become an instant hit with children. Also, his synthodrones (goons that look like real people but are filled with a synthetic slime) are improving and he's developing a personality enhancer for them.

In Middleton, Kim is, indeed, frustrated over the prom-issue. Ron figures they will be going together, just like every other dance, but Kim tells him that this is their Senior Prom and it's different. Ron seems a bit crestfallen but Kim's on the quest to find a a date-date. Monique thinks that Kim is only falling victim to Bonnie's bait. Bonnie had told Kim earlier that all the cheerleaders are going to prom with jocks and that perhaps she should consider taking someone "higher up on the food chain than Stoppable."

Ron then meets a boy named Erik who happen to steal his parking spot. At first, he's angry but then they start talking and Ron finds that Erik and him have a lot in common. They hit it off right away and Ron decides to take Erik around and get him acclimated. At lunch, Erik spots Kim in the caf line and immediately declares her as "extreme steam." This obviously disturbs Ron a great deal as he proclaims, "Let's never talk about her like that again. Okay? Okay." Erik thinks this is because Ron and Kim are "tight" but Ron instantly clears up the matter. "No way! Me and KP have been best friends since, like, Pre-K." Erik apparently takes his as an invitation to make a move on Kim as he hurriedly takes at seat next to her. Ron's seat. Ron squeezes in between them but it's too late. Kim and Erik start flirting.

Kim's dad is working late on night when he doesn't return home and the family gets worried. Kim finds out that Drakken kidnapped her dad and she and Ron go to rescue him. They find him in Drakken's lair where Kim saves him from the brain-tap creature but he doesn't remember being attacked. Drakken wanted the new technology that Dr. Possible was working on called the Hephaestus Project. It has the ability to reproduce and grow by itself. Kim finds some of the things Drakken's working on but thinks nothing of it.

Ron feels left out during the following days as Kim and Erik start 'dating', although it's not official. They hang out at the park, at school, Bueno Nacho, and even at Kim's house. Kim's parents take a quick liking to Erik (who would feel better to have her in by 10:00 pm on prom night, although she's allowed to be out until 11:00 pm) and the twins call Kim out on having cooties. Erik eventually asks Kim to go to the prom with him and she happily accepts. In addition to loosing his best friend, Ron has to deal with the fact that Bueno Nacho has stopped Naco Night and now has kiddie meals with toys. The place is always flooded with children these days and Ron can only do take out now. This is due to a change in management. Someone bought the whole chain and replaced everything, including Ned. Ron can't take it and is so lonely and sad that you have to feel bad for him and say, "Aww . . . poor Ron." "I'm loosing everything I ever cared about!" he exclaims in anguish on live television.

It's finally prom night and Ron decides he's not going. Instead, he finally realizes that to get KP back, he's "going to do what no man should ever have to do: talk about his feelings." He goes to find Kim and tell her how he really feels about her. Making a stop at Bueno Nacho, Ron finds that something's not right. Ned tries to give him a warning by writing 'Evil' on his tray with Diablo sauce but Ron doesn't take the hint. In fact, he only notices that Bueno Nacho has further ruined his life by taking away the bendy straws. This is literally the last straw for Ron. He wants to talk to the new CEO right away and has Wade hook him up through the pay phone. When Drakken picks up saying, "Hola! El presidente speaking," Ron knows something is seriously wrong. Things become even worse when the cute Lil' Diablo toys from the kid's meals turn into giant, evil Diablo bots that are out to destroy Middleton.

Ron rushes over to the prom to tell Kim what's up but Erik thinks Ron is making it up and doesn't want her to leave. Kim doesn't completely believe Ron at first but when she double checks with Wade she knows its true. Kim and Ron leave the school and head for Bueno Nacho on Ron's scooter. The Diablo bots are apparently receiving a signal from the giant taco on top of the Bueno Nacho sign. Thinking the day is saved, Kim and Ron take out the transmisson but only to hear the Kimmunicator go off. It's Drakken with a message for Kim. He's holding Erik hostage and Kim is the only one who can save him.

Kim runs home and retrieves a highly confidential battle suit which Wade designed for her but it's still in testing. Putting it on, they hurry to Bueno Nacho's head office (which is under Drakken's control) where Kim battles it out with Shego. When she wins, Erik comes down an escalator and they hug. She was so worried about him. He turns on her suddenly by knocking her unconscious with an electric shock. Ron tries to come to her rescue but he's knocked out by Shego, who has recovered from her battle with Kim. Erik is actually a synthodrone created by Drakken with a special personality enhancer that he used to make him seem like the perfect guy for Kim. The Diablo bots mutate using the technology from the Hephaestus Project which he stole from Dr. Possible. Everything clicks into Drakken plans.

When Kim and Ron finally come to, they are tied up to large Bueno Nacho promotional props. Ron thinks he's in heaven while Kim is depressed and feeling defeat. Ron tells her she can't give up and convinces her that her life's not over even though her boyfriend turned out to be synthodrone. "Maybe there is someone out there for me," says Kim. A little embarrassed, Ron admits, "Out there . . . in here." "Really?" asks Kim as they blush. Rufus jumps out of Ron's pocket and per instructions from Ron, dives into Kim's backpack which is laying on the floor and uses the laser lipstick to cut them free from their bindings.

Kim and Ron then stop Drakken from launching the signal that would activate every Lil' Diablo worldwide to mutate into the evil Diablo bots. Erik turns out to be really evil as well and admits that he only befriended Ron to get closer to Kim and that he thinks naked mole rats are gross. Rufus doesn't take this remark lightly and promptly bits a hole in his shoe, causing the slime to ooze out of the suit, thus killing Erik. Shego and Drakken are sent off to jail, but not before Ron gets Drakken to finally say his name. Drakken admits that maybe Kim "is all that!"

Kim decides the night's not completely ruined and shows up to the prom with Ron this time, causing the entire gym to retreat into silence. "It finally happened!" exclaims Bonnie. "She's dating that loser. Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable are dating?!" Instead of making fun of them, everyone except Bonnie begins to cheer. Kim and Ron blush and then feel a bit awkward as they start to dance to Christy's new single, "Could It Be?" Finally, they smile a reassuring smile at each other and become more comfortable as the dance goes on. Towards the end, they slowly lean in and kiss.
