Kilter

Kilter is a fictional character, mentioned in L. Frank Baum's book The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus.

Kilter runs around to all the houses of the world, gathering up Christmas lists to give to Santa. He was described as "a silent fellow, and [he] seldom spoke of what he saw." He often passed through wall, in order to gather up lists. As Kilter and Peter and Nuter and Wisk all possess the power to do so, they have helped Santa since the advent of stoves, which limited the need for fire places.
