Killer Commando
Killer Commando (a.k.a Killa Commando) is a total conversion mod to the computer game Battlefield 1942 (2002) that features a unique fantasy theme. The mod development and theme was reportedly based off of a joke in a forum.
The original poster was named "Killa2000" and while it is still unknown if he was joking or not since he never gave in, he decided to make a mod that would be "better than all those other shit mods"
His original post included:
- "Its gonna own ya all. Im making it and it will be soo awesome! Its about DRAGONS fighting against zeppelins with Monster trucks and stuff !!! Ya know you can have total action man, and its gonna be realistic as hell !!! You can destroy everything !!! And shoot all people and so on..."
He even made a trailer for it, which caused waves of laughter from the members due to its poorly made Macromedia Flash animations with Microsoft Paint copied pictures. Well after a long thread in which he named several modelers and "skinas" he disappeared. After the thread started to die a group (led by paperkut) decided to go on with the mod. They made it all the way to a version 0.2 (BF 1.45 compatible), which included rock throwing blimps, monster trucks, dragons, ninjas and pirates (perhaps a deliberate Real Ultimate Power reference), Vin Diesel health gauge, and on and on. It truly was a parody of the many bad mods coming out of the time, along with a tribute to killa2000. Version 0.3 was never released to the public, and the site is gone.
