Kilgore College
Kilgore College is a state supported junior college in Kilgore, Texas. It is most noted for The (World Famous) Kilgore College Rangerettes, the first ever drill team. The Rangerettes (or rettes, as local teachers and students call them) perform at huge events every year, and are featured quite often in various media, the most recent being The 55th Presidential Inauguration, the Cotton Bowl, Texas Monthly, and Texas 24/7 to name a few.
Equally as important, is the number of liberal art students that eventually graduate or have graduated from a university, that begin at Kilgore College (or KC). Many of these students excel in their fields today. The college is known state-wide for its historic marching Ranger band, and award-winning newspaper The Flare
Moreover, Kilgore College is known for its outstanding atheletic programs, which consistently place athletes in higher positions. Recently notable is the Kilgore College football team's undefeated 2004 regular season. Furthermore, if you watched Cincinnati and Marshall in the Fort Worth Bowl, you might have noticed former Kilgore College Ranger Quarterback Graham Gochneaur, who started at quarterback in that game for Marshall University.
Some might say that Kilgore College picked a good slogan in their recent add campaign: "A Good Choice."
