Keralac lotion

Keralac lotion is a lotion or gel that is available by prescription only. Its purpose is to serve as a gentle, yet potent skin softener and exfoliant. It generally contains about 35% urea for skin use, and 50% urea for nail use. The urea serves to dissolve the structures of dead cells, thus removing the outer, tougher layers and exposing the softer, newer ones. It is used in general cases where skin is in a hyperkeratotic condition (too much protein is being produced, causing the skin to harden and flake off), such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, xerosis, keratosis and calluses.

Other names for this medicine may include: Carmol 40, Carmol 20, Gordon's Urea, Vanamide, Nutraplus, Aqua Care, Gormel, Rea-Lo, Ureacin-10, Gormel Ten, Carmol 10, Ultra Mide 25, Lanaphilic w/Urea, Aquaphilic w/Carbamide.
