DJ Keoki
DJ Keoki (born c. 1963) is a famous techno musician who was born in El Salvador (many say he was born in Panama). Just like his birthplace, his real name and other aspects of his life remain a mystery to many. He has many nicknames, some of them created by him. Among his nicknames are: "The Bad Boy of Techno", "The It Boy", "The God of Techno", "The Pied Piper" "The Mixmaster" and "The Magician".
DJ Keoki grew up in Maui, Hawaii. From there on, he went to live in New York, New York, where he met Michael Alig. Alig and Keoki had a homosexual relationship; Keoki was Alig's boyfriend as Alig rose to international fame as the head of "the Club Kids" gang, a group of mostly homosexual party-goers who would dress up in different ways every night, reunite and form parties all over the United States. Often, Keoki, Alig and other club members would catch an airplane flight across the country just to attend a "club" party. Club members also included James St. James and Angel Melendez, who would supply the group with drugs.
As his nickname implies, Keoki performed as a DJ during the parties. He and Alig both developed a very expensive drug habit and they began to grow separate from each other. Alig then killed Melendez because he owed Melendez an amount of drug money that he simply would not have been able to pay. Subsequently, Alig became a fugitive of the law, breaking all ties with Keoki.
Keoki went on to have a successful career as a musician during the 1990s, releasing a number of CD's over that decade. He still likes to dress extravagantly, and he sports a good number of body tattoos.
