Ken Boothe

Ken Boothe was born on 22 March 1946, in Kingston, Jamaica.

His recording career began with producer Clement "Coxsone" Dodd.

He and Alton Ellis had a successful UK tour with the group Soul Vendors in 1967.

After leaving Coxsone he recorded for Leslie Kong. He then formed the group Conscious Minds with B.B. Seaton. Ken had hits for Sonia Pottinger.

Ken is known as "Mr. Rocksteady" for his prominence during that musical period. "Everything I Own" was No. 1 in the UK in 1974.

He has also recorded for Bunny Lee, Phil Pratt, King Jammy, Pete Weston, Jack Ruby, Hugh “Red Man” James, Castro Brown and Tappa Zukie.
