Kawasaki KLR650

The Kawasaki KLR650 is a long standing model in Kawasaki's lineup, being introduced in 1987 and continuing almost unchanged as of 2004. The KLR is a dual-sport motorcycle intended for use on both paved and unpaved roads. The bike is heavier than specialized off-road dirt bikes, but will handle most conditions when ridden carefully. Its counterbalanced, water cooled engine is smooth for a single cylinder and though it is not powerful, can maintain speeds in excess of 80 mph (130 km/h) while consuming fuel at 50–60 miles per gallon from its 6.1 gallon (23 litre) tank and has a top speed of over 100mph (160km/h).
