Katie Barberi

Katie Barberi (born January 22, 1972 in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico) is a Mexican actress.

Because of the nature of the careers of both her parents, Katie Barberi attended many different schools in different cities of the United States and Mexico. The unstable nature of her childhood is a circumstance she considers 100% positive. She had been exposed to different cultures and points of views about life, as well as havig the benefit of learning both English and Spanish.

Katie Barberi and her mother relocated to Los Angeles, California when she was twelve years old. She quickly began acting professionally in television, film, and on stage. During this time, she had the opportunity to do starring roles in three Disney films. She also played "Maria Delucci" in the NBC series The Bronx Zoo.

In 1994, Katie Barberi was offered a contract to be a part of a series of soap operas in Mexico City by Televisa; currently the widest distributor of soap operas in the world. Ready for a change, and with the desire to expand her horizons and see family members in Mexico she hadn't seen in more than a decade, Katie happily accepted.

A self admitted workaholic, Katie Barberi fell in love with the fast pace of acting in Mexican soap operas, where you're required to tape up to forty scenes in one day with the soaps being shot in many different locations. She has starred in many soap operas, each of about nine to eleven month's duration as they are shot like "mini-series" in Latin America.
