Kate Seelye

Kate Seelye is a journalist presently covering the middle east for NPR.

Not to be confused with conservative commentator Katherine Q. Seelye, Seeyle has previously worked with the BBC, and PBS. She is the daughter of Fmr. US Ambassador Talcott Seelye, and is decended from former Amherst College president Julius H. Seelye. She graduated from Amherst College in 1984. In addition to reporting, she has been employed by Queen Noor of Jordan, and as Manager of Media Relations for the Arab Anti-Discrimination League. In 2004, Seelye received and honorary doctoral degree from Amherst College. Despite her accomplishments, Seelye has been the subject of criticism by some Pro-Israeli groups for expressing an anti-zionist bias in reporting.
