Kat & Ana
According to the manual bios in Mega Party Games, the two are descended from the Iga clan of ninjas. They attend Mystical Ninja Elementary, and have an affection for animals. As of Touched, they have four pets: Don the Sparrow (who has not appeared since the original game), Shadow the Dog (who was named Paw in the original, and has the uncanny ability to transform into a giant sword), Ken the Eagle, and Numchuck the Monkey. In terms of personality, Ana is timid, while Kat is a bit more bossy and overall controlling of her sister, though she cares for her deeply.
It was revealed in Touched! that the two live in an old-fashioned Japanese style house in a forest. Their parents have yet to be seen.
Backstory
Warioware Inc. Mega Microgame$:
During the night, a Demon called Boneheadz floats over a temple, and possesses a person (whose name and gender is the same as the name and gender you put when they ask you to in the beginning of the game). Ana and four other Ninjas approach to fight Boneheadz, who is possessing their master, but they're all easily defeated. Ana sends a bird to deliver a message to her sister Kat, who is out far, far away with her dog. When Kat gets the message, she travels to Diamond City to face Boneheadz, who has Ana tied up, hanging from the building. During the fight, she eventually transforms her dog into a mighty sword, and slashes through Boneheadz three times, killing it.
During microgames, Kat will be running through the castle, with Four Seasons, the theme music of Kat and Ana, playing in the background. Win or lose, Kat will advance, but when you lose, the music distorts for a few seconds, like with most of the full-sized songs in the game. The Game Over splash is just Kat in a fighting pose with Boneheadz looming in the background. Continuing causes the a message similar to "So persistant!" to pop up on the screen.
Warioware: Touched!
Ana comes home to find her bananas missing. A monkey has stolen bananas, and eats them on the rooftop. Kat's dog spots some of the monkey's footprints, which Ana starts to follow. She first writes a letter to her sister, Kat. This is when you practice the technique necessary for this level, writing the letter yourself. After this, Ana and her dog go to follow the tracks. Kat then arrives, saying she read your note. Then they find the end of the footprints as well as the monkey. They comment on how cute the monkey is, name him Numchuck (play on the word, nunchuck) and keep him as a pet.
During microgames, Kat and Ana will walk through the forest in search of the monkey, with you viewing them from behind. When you win, the girls celebrate, but when you lose, the girls become upset. The game over splash shows the girls happily walking along with their pets.
Warioware: Twisted!
For now, not much is known about what happens to people who can't read Japanese. The premise appears to be this: Kat and Ana are on a class trip of some sort, which is evident from the fact that girls are wearing backpacks. As they walk around, Ana apparently gets tried and rests for a few seconds, where both the hawk and the dog wait up for her. After a few moments, Ana catches up to Kat, who is busy poking a beehive with a stick. She ends up getting there just in time for the beehive to fall the ground. Seconds later, a swarm of bees come out of the hive and start chasing the girl.
With their games in Twisted being A-Button only games, the cutscene game involves the two girls running from the bees. Here, you have to rapidly press A in order to keep Ana ahead of the bees.
After a few seconds of this, regardless of whether or not Ana managed to stay ahead of the bees, the two girls run into a hut and slam the door behind them. Kat and Ana start to relax, only to have the hut's inhabitant, who pretty much defies definition, other than that it's humanoid, come up to them from behind. The girls toss their bookbags aside and switch to their ninja gear, ready to take the beast down.
The microgame theme sticks with this, basically having the viewer facing the girls. The girls turn and point their katanas at the viewer, as the screen slashes away to reveal the next microgame. They celebrate when you win and look hurt when you lose. The game over splash shows the girls and the beast taking a break, with the girls apparently exhausted.
After you win, the girls rush at the beast and slash at him. They jump back and prepare to finish off the beast, charging up energy in a rather over-the-top manner. The beast slowly backs away at the display. However, just as this happens, the bird and dog fly into the hut and slams into the ceiling, and then they fall on the beast, effectively defeating him. Kat and Ana simply sweatdrop at this.
Figuring the bees have moved on, the girls open the door of the hut, only to find that the bees are still waiting outside. The scene ends with the girls and their pets being chased by the bees in front of a sunset. And then they go to Club Sugar/Sato and hang out with everyone else who has had their games cleared.
