Kara-bogaz

Kara-Bogaz is located to the east of the Caspian Sea in Turkmenistan. This basin of shallow salt water is separated by a thin sand bar from the Caspian. It is also the subject of Konstantin Georgievich Paustovsky's 1932 book Kara-Bogaz.
