Kikuchi Kan

Kikuchi Kan (菊池 寛), (December 26,1888 – March 6,1948) was a Japanese author.

He was born in Takamatsu, Kagawa. His real name is written by same Kanji characters except that the last character 寛 is read as Hiroshi. He started the company Bungei Shunju Inc. and the monthly magazine Bungei Shunju (文藝春秋) as well as establishing Japan Writer's Association and making the Akutagawa prize and the Naoki prize of literature. He had also been the head of a movie company Daiei. He is known to have been an avid player of Mahjong.
