KAL-Online (칼온라인, kal is Korean for "sword") is a fantasy MMORPG from Inixsoft. Originally from South Korea, KAL-Online is currently available to English speakers as an open beta test.
Unlike many other games in the fantasy/RPG genre which are heavily based on European legend, KAL-Online presents itself as an "Oriental Fantasy" game. The game is based on the mytholgical war between the great king Ha-Nin and the demonic troops of Ban-Go.

Quests
Like many MMORPGs, quests are an important prescence in KAL-Online. They are divided into three categories:
Tasks
Tasks usually consist of the easiest or shortest of the quests. The basic rewards for completing a task are experience points, skill points, and items.
Events
Events are typically harder than tasks and take longer to complete, but they offer a bigger reward to the player. Currently there are four events which must be completed in order. Completing the fourth task ("Entering the Government Service!") allows the player to change their job.
Missions
Missions are considered the hardest of the quests, and thus they are usually completed by groups of players.
Eggs and transformation
After completing a specific quest in the game, players are awarded an egg. Depending on the player's job, they are awarded with different animals' eggs:
- Mu-Sa – Ancient Tiger (grants strength)
- Goong-Soo – Ancient Panther (grants agility)
- Joo-Sool-Sa – Ancient Bird (grants wisdom)
By equipping the egg, it will slowly gain experience. An egg starts at Grade 1, but when it reaches Grade 11 it can be used for transformation. If a player has a full rage bar and an animal equipped, they can transform into it temporarily.
