Yaakov Chaim Sofer

Rabbi Yaakov Chaim Sofer (1870–1939) is the author of the work of Halakha, Kaf Hachaim by which title he is also known. Sofer was born in in Baghdad. He moved to Israel, where he learned in the "Bet El" Yeshiva in the old city of Jerusalem, this yeshiva is well known for the study of kabbalah. Rabbi Sofer wrote books of aggadah and halacha. His books are known for bringing the original traditions of Iraqi Jews and are studied to this day.
