The community has a small school, a church, and a square(plateia).
The area used to have a road connecting northwestern Ilia and Gastouni with Simopoulo, as soon as the Peneus River dam was complete, the area north and west of Kampos where agriculture was the main source became flooded. Hills dominate the south and southeast. The remaining farmlands left are in the east and within Kampos. It still has a road linking Amaliada and Simopoulo.
The commune boundary is still marked at the Peneus where the river once stood.
About 5 km south is the narrow mountain of Skollis which has an angle of 75° to 80°.
