Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization
(Redirected from KEDO)
The Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization (KEDO) is an organization founded on March 15, 1995 by the United States, South Korea, and Japan to implement the 1994 Agreed Framework that froze North Korea's nuclear weapons program.
Since then, other members have joined:
- 1995: Australia, Canada, New Zealand
- 1996: Argentina, Chile, Indonesia
- 1997: European Union, Poland
- 1999: Czech Republic
- 2000: Uzbekistan
In the wake of the breakdown of the Agreed Framework around 2002, KEDO has largely lost its function.
